Which VPS providers does Klystrr support?

Klystrr works with any VPS provider that gives you SSH access. This includes DigitalOcean, Hetzner, OVH, Linode/Akamai, Vultr, AWS EC2, Google Compute Engine, and any other provider running a standard Linux distribution.

What happens when I trigger a deployment?

Klystrr connects to your server via SSH, then sequentially: (1) clones or pulls your repository, (2) runs your install command, (3) runs your build command, (4) starts or restarts your app via PM2, and (5) updates the Nginx reverse proxy and provisions SSL if needed. Each step is logged in real time.

Can deployments be triggered automatically?

Yes. Enable auto-deploy in your project settings. Klystrr will register a webhook on your repository and trigger a deployment every time a push is made to the configured branch.

How does SSL work on Klystrr?

Klystrr provisions SSL certificates automatically using Let's Encrypt via Certbot during deployment. The certificate is installed on your server and Nginx is configured to serve HTTPS. All HTTP traffic is redirected to HTTPS automatically.

Which Git providers does Klystrr support?

Accepted Answer

Klystrr supports GitHub and GitLab (including gitlab.com and self-hosted instances for eligible plans). Support for Bitbucket and Gitea is not available at this time.

How are my SSH credentials and API tokens stored?

Accepted Answer

All sensitive data — private keys, OAuth tokens, and environment variables — is encrypted at rest using a secure encryption method. Encryption keys are stored separately from the database. Plain text values are never stored or returned via the API.
